Hirschfeld fabricated and erected approximately 30,000 tons of structural and miscellaneous steel for the $1.5 billion Formosa petrochemical plant at Point Comfort, Texas. At the time it was the largest one-time private investment in the state of Texas and the largest project in Hirschfeld’s history. This multiyear construction project was a landmark for Hirschfeld, as it demonstrated our ability to fabricate and erect large projects with extremely aggressive milestones for completion. Hirschfeld successfully completed this project ahead of schedule and under budget.
